Shri Justice Bhushan Ramkrishna Gavai Sworn in as the 50th Chief Justice of India New Delhi, 14 May 2025: In a distinguished ceremony held today at 1000 hrs in the Ganatantra Mandap of Rashtrapati Bhavan, Shri Justice Bhushan Ramkrishna Gavai took the oath of office as the 50th Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of India. The solemn occasion saw Shri Justice Gavai make and subscribe to the oath before the President of India, affirming his commitment to upholding the Constitution and delivering justice impartially. Shri Justice Gavai, who has had an illustrious career within the judiciary, ascends to the highest judicial office in the land, bringing with him a wealth of experience and a steadfast dedication to the principles of fairness and equality before the law.
