Minister Sakina Itoo Meets Vice Chancellor of University of Kashmir![]() Srinagar, 26 May 2025: Professor Nilofar Khan, Vice Chancellor of the University of Kashmir, today called on the Hon’ble Minister for Education, Social Welfare, and Health & Medical Education, Ms. Sakeena Itoo, at the Civil Secretariat in Srinagar. During the meeting, Professor Khan apprised the Minister of the forthcoming visit by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) peer team, scheduled from 29th to 31st May, as part of the University’s institutional assessment process. The Vice Chancellor elaborated on the University’s extensive preparations for the visit, aimed at showcasing its academic rigour, research culture, and student-centric initiatives. Professor Khan also briefed the Minister on a series of recent academic reforms and research developments introduced at the University. She highlighted the expansion of academic offerings at the University’s satellite campuses, with particular emphasis on cutting-edge fields such as Artificial Intelligence, which are designed to align with evolving global educational trends. The Hon’ble Minister, Ms. Sakeena Itoo, commended the University’s efforts in promoting academic excellence and fostering a culture of innovation across the region. She assured the Vice Chancellor of the government’s continued support in further strengthening the institution’s academic and infrastructural capacity. Extending her best wishes for the upcoming NAAC visit, the Minister expressed confidence that the University of Kashmir would achieve the highest accreditation grade, in recognition of its sustained commitment to quality education and progressive reform. |
