President of India and Prime Minister Extend Ceremonial Welcome to President of Angola at Rashtrapati Bhavan




New Delhi, 3 May 2025: The President of India, Smt Droupadi Murmu, and the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, extended a warm ceremonial welcome to His Excellency Mr João Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço, President of the Republic of Angola, at Rashtrapati Bhavan today.

Upon his arrival, President Lourenço was accorded a ceremonial guard of honour in the forecourt of the presidential residence. The occasion was marked by full state honours, reflecting the cordial and longstanding relations between India and Angola.

This high-level visit underscores the mutual commitment of both nations to further deepen bilateral engagement across a broad spectrum of areas, including trade and investment, energy cooperation, defence collaboration, and cultural exchange.

President Lourenço's visit is expected to provide renewed momentum to India–Angola relations, with discussions scheduled to take place on regional and global matters of mutual interest. Following the ceremonial welcome, the visiting dignitary is scheduled to engage in official talks and interactions aimed at reinforcing strategic partnership and shared development goals.

The ceremonial reception at Rashtrapati Bhavan reaffirmed the spirit of friendship and cooperation that characterises the diplomatic ties between the two nations.
