Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Congratulates Australian PM Anthony Albanese on Historic Re-election, Reaffirms Strategic Partnership New Delhi, 5 May 2025: Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi held a telephone conversation today with The Hon Anthony Albanese to extend his warm congratulations on Mr Albanese’s historic re-election as the 32nd Prime Minister of Australia. The two leaders reaffirmed their shared commitment to further strengthening the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (CSP) between India and Australia. They noted that over the past five years, the CSP has witnessed robust progress across a broad spectrum of sectors. Both leaders also acknowledged the important role played by the vibrant Indian-origin diaspora in deepening bilateral ties. During the conversation, the Prime Ministers exchanged views on key regional and global issues of mutual interest and reiterated their commitment to fostering a free, open, stable, rules-based, and prosperous Indo-Pacific region. Prime Minister Modi extended a cordial invitation to Prime Minister Albanese to visit India, including for the forthcoming Annual Summit and the QUAD Summit to be hosted in India later this year. The leaders agreed to remain in close contact as they continue to advance the partnership. |
