Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Shri Omar Abdullah, Visits SDH Tangdhar Following Recent Pakistan Shelling




Kupwara, 13 May 2025: In the aftermath of the recent shelling by Pakistan along the Line of Control (LoC), the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Shri Omar Abdullah, visited the Sub-District Hospital (SDH) in Tangdhar, Kupwara, to personally assess the impact on the local population and to express solidarity with the affected individuals. The visit comes after a wave of violence which saw multiple casualties and injuries in the area, as well as widespread damage to property.

During his visit, the Chief Minister met with medical staff and healthcare professionals who have been working around the clock to treat the victims of the shelling. Despite the challenges of providing emergency care in such a volatile environment, the doctors and staff at SDH Tangdhar have shown remarkable dedication, putting their own safety aside to save lives.

Shri Omar Abdullah offered his deepest gratitude to the frontline healthcare workers for their selfless efforts in the face of danger. He praised their commitment and resilience, which has been critical in managing the aftermath of this crisis.

In a statement on Twitter, the Chief Minister remarked, "Hospitals in border areas will be further strengthened and equipped to effectively handle emergencies in future," reaffirming his government's commitment to enhancing medical infrastructure in the region.

This visit highlights the ongoing concerns surrounding the safety and well-being of residents in areas like Tangdhar, which have been frequently targeted by cross-border shelling.
