Consecration Ceremony of Newly Constructed Zimchung for H.E. Bakula Rangdol Nima Rinpochay Held at Lamayuru Monastery![]() Leh, 30 April 2025: A solemn consecration ceremony was held today at Lamayuru Monastery to mark the inauguration of the newly constructed Zimchung (residential quarters) for His Eminence Bakula Rangdol Nima Rinpochay. The spiritually significant occasion was organised by the Nimagungpa Mahayana Welfare Association (NMWA), Lamayuru, Sham Ladakh, and witnessed the presence of a large gathering of monks, devotees, community members, and dignitaries from across the region. The Hon’ble Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC Leh, Advocate Tashi Gyalson, graced the event as Chief Guest, while His Eminence Bakula Rangdol Nima Rinpochay presided as Guest of Honour. The ceremony began with a warm reception of the invited guests. The formal consecration and inauguration of the Zimchung were performed by Hon’ble CEC Advocate Tashi Gyalson. Traditional khataks were offered by the President of Nimagungpa Mahayana Welfare Association and the Ex-Sarpanch of Lamayuru, symbolising customary Ladakhi hospitality and reverence. Mr Tsering Norboo, President of NMWA, delivered the welcome address, following which Acharya Rigzen Wangchuk presented a spiritually enriching biographical account of His Eminence Bakula Rangdol Nima Rinpochay, drawing deep appreciation from those gathered. The event was further enlivened by a series of vibrant traditional cultural performances. The Amatsogspa group of Lamayuru initiated the cultural segment, followed by a spirited folk performance by villagers of Achinathang. Students of Government Higher Secondary School, Lamayuru, also contributed with a captivating presentation reflecting Ladakhi heritage and youthful pride. Ceremonial prayers and offerings were led by the monks of Lamayuru Gonpa, and senior monk Dorjay Lhobon addressed the gathering with spiritual reflections and blessings. His Eminence Bakula Rangdol Nima Rinpochay delivered a deeply meaningful address, blessing the congregation and offering spiritual guidance. Additional speeches were delivered by various dignitaries, marking the importance of the event for the cultural and spiritual fabric of the region. As a gesture of appreciation, commemorative mementoes and tokens of gratitude were formally presented to dignitaries, volunteers, and sponsors for their contributions to the successful completion of the Zimchung project. In his keynote address, Hon’ble CEC Advocate Tashi Gyalson extended heartfelt congratulations to all stakeholders involved. He lauded the collective commitment, coordination, and spiritual devotion of the monastic body, community leaders, and volunteers. The CEC made special mention of the efforts of Hon’ble Councillor Lamayuru, Dr Morup Dorjay, for his unwavering support. “Projects such as this are not just infrastructure; they are a living testament to our cultural and spiritual identity. The ceremony concluded with the traditional Tashispa folk dance performed by the villagers of Lamayuru, with dignitaries and attendees joining in joyous celebration. The event closed with a formal vote of thanks and concluding prayers for peace, harmony, and the well-being of all sentient beings.
