Hon’ble CEC Inspects Bakula Rinpoche Shradhanjali Park, Reviews Progress Ahead of Inauguration on 19 May![]() Leh, 2 May 2025: The Hon’ble Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor (CEC) of the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC), Leh, Advocate Tashi Gyalson, conducted a detailed inspection of the Bakula Rinpoche Shradhanjali Park today to assess the status of the ongoing works in preparation for the scheduled inauguration on 19 May 2025. During the visit, the Hon’ble CEC comprehensively reviewed various aspects of the project, including the landscaping, civil works, and the installation of the grand statue of the 19th Kushok Bakula Rinpoche, Ngawang Lobzang Thupstan Chognor. The inspection was aimed at evaluating the overall readiness of the site and finalising preparations for the ceremonial unveiling. While taking stock of the site, the Hon’ble CEC stressed the importance of completing the remaining work on a war footing. He reiterated the need to maintain the highest standards of quality and ensure that all timelines are met. He further emphasised the necessity of regular monitoring and close coordination among the concerned departments to guarantee the park's timely completion. The inauguration date, 19 May, holds special significance as it marks the birth anniversary of the 19th Kushok Bakula Rinpoche, one of Ladakh’s most revered spiritual leaders. Accompanying the Hon’ble CEC during the inspection were the Deputy Commissioner and Chief Executive Officer, LAHDC Leh; the Senior Superintendent of Police, Leh; the Additional Deputy Commissioner and CEO of the Ladakh Development Authority; and the General Manager and Engineer Project of AAI KBR Airport Leh. Also present were the Superintending Engineer, PWD Leh; the Deputy Secretary of the Ladakh Academy of Art, Culture and Languages; the President of the Ladakh Buddhist Association (LBA), Leh; and the President of the All Ladakh Gonpa Association (ALGA), Leh. Representatives from various implementing departments and stakeholders also participated, including the Executive Engineers from the R&B Division Leh, Public Health Engineering (PHE), Power Development Department (PDD), and Ladakh Development Authority (LDA). The Executive Officer of the Municipal Committee Leh, the Nambardar of Spituk, and the President and members of the Bakula Memorial Trust were also in attendance. Additionally, the Additional Director General of the ABCP and project architect Javed joined the inspection team. The visit underscored the LAHDC's commitment to completing the project with dedication and diligence. Once inaugurated, the Bakula Rinpoche Shradhanjali Park will serve not only as a tribute to a spiritual luminary but also as a cultural and civic space of significance for the people of Ladakh. |
